THE GATHERING

A room for our work.
A place for each other.

La Soirée Indigène is a gathering of Indigenous artists and creatives across Nations and disciplines. It is a place to meet one another, share ideas and build relationships rooted in respect for each person’s work, community and experience.

Our second gathering brings that spirit to Chelsea, New York City in February 2027. A shared dinner, an arts-centered program and public After Hours create space for conversation, music and connection. Artists at every stage of their practice are welcome to inquire about participating.

Presented by La Soirée Indigène & Grinding Stone Collective.
Dining in collaboration with Buffalo Jump NYC.

OUR FOUNDING PRINCIPLE

“Land Back is also about
bringing the artists back.”

Presence. Resources. Continuity.
Room for Indigenous creativity to grow on its own terms.

BEYOND THE EVENING

Supporting artists.
Beyond one evening.

The gathering connects to a longer commitment: helping Indigenous artists access space, resources and relationships that support their practice. Our developing residency and Creative Committee are part of that work.

01 / ARTIST RESIDENCY

Space to create

A developing four-to-six-month residency supporting Indigenous artists across disciplines. Housing, studio access, travel and production support are subject to funding. The recipient announcement is planned for the private portion of N°2.

02 / CREATIVE COMMITTEE 2027–2028

Help shape what comes next

A committee is being formed to help guide the next chapter of La Soirée Indigène. Three seats are available through application, within a four-member committee serving a two-year term.

HOW WE GATHER

Many Nations.
Distinct voices.
